Creative Easy Gift Idea

This was definitely the year of the coffee cup! My friends and I all stalk pinterest for easy, cheap, creative gifts we can give each other for all sorts of occasions. This year, three of us made and gave us all personalized coffee mugs! I guess we all had the same great idea!

All you need is blank coffee mug, sharpies, rubbing alcohol, cotton pad, and an oven.

Wipe down the whole outside of the coffee mug to make sure oils and grime are off. Let dry and the creative part begins!

I knew for sure I wanted to do this for my roommate. She's a teacher and her school colors are black and red. How cute for any teacher!? Great teacher appreciation, end of school, or Christmas gift!
This may look a little hard but I'll break it down in to how easy this actually was.

Start by taking a pen and lightly outlining how you want the apple to look. The pen will bake off and you'll be covering it all up with sharpie.

Do a fine outline in sharpie and then simple dot around the lines. Keeping the dots close by the line and gradually getting farther apart as you go farther out. The reason this one is so easy is because there is no pattern to follow, just dot where you think there should be a dot and keep on going!

Another great thing would be to put a favorite quote or inspiration on a mug. A reminder to be awesome is always appropriate and could even be a pick-me-up on days it's not so easy to get out of bed.

This cup was really all about the little details.

I love how easy this was to make a heart! And there's a cute little surprise at the bottom of the mug once they finish their morning drink! :)

How wouldn't smile at that?

Once your finish your art work, let them sit 24 hours and then bake! Put them into a COLD oven and then preheat to 350. Once it's up to temperature, bake for 30 minutes. Cut oven off leaving the mugs in the oven and let cool completely!

Let me know you got a personalized mug or made some for presents. Post your pictures below in the comments!

Until next time! xo
